Position Overview:
As a Full-Time Virtual Teacher of the Deaf, you will work remotely to provide specialized instruction and support to deaf and hard-of-hearing students in Georgia. You will develop and deliver engaging virtual lessons, create individualized education plans, and collaborate with families and educational staff to ensure the success and well-being of your students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Deliver high-quality virtual instruction tailored to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
- Assessment: Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed.
- IEP Development: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, students, and school staff.
- Collaboration: Work closely with parents, school counselors, and other educators to create a supportive learning environment.
- Resource Management: Utilize and adapt educational resources and technology to enhance learning experiences for students.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Valid Teacher of the Deaf certification in Georgia.
- Experience: Proven experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with deaf culture.
- Technology: Comfort with virtual teaching platforms and educational technology.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage students and build strong relationships remotely.
