K-8 Remote Special Education Teacher in Vermont
Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours), Remote, 1099 Contract
We are in search of an experienced Special Education Teacher to work for a Vermont School District for the 2023/2024 school year. As a Remote Pennsylvania Special Education Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs from the comfort of your own home. This is a full-time, remote position that requires a commitment to providing high-quality education and support to students in the school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals
- Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction and support to students through virtual platforms
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Provide ongoing communication and support to parents/guardians regarding student progress and individualized interventions
Qualifications:
- Vermont Special Education Teaching Certification
- Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Two years of experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and ADA
- Familiarity with virtual teaching platforms and technology tools for remote instruction
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Passionate about providing high-quality education and support to students with special needs
