Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to join our educational institution in Kentucky. As a TDHH, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, administrators, and educators.
  • Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments.
  • Provide direct instruction to students, focusing on language development, communication skills, and academic subjects.
  • Utilize various instructional techniques, including sign language and assistive technology, to enhance learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to address students' communication and hearing needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure in Deaf Education.
  • Certification as a Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting.
