About the Position:
We are excited to invite applications for a Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team for the Spring Semester. This position offers an opportunity to teach and support students with diverse learning needs in a fully remote setting. You will play a key role in helping students with disabilities thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while receiving personalized attention through virtual learning platforms.
In this role, you will use your expertise in special education to adapt lessons, provide direct support, and collaborate with families and other educators to ensure that all students receive the accommodations and modifications necessary for their success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.
• Provide live, interactive instruction in a virtual environment, utilizing a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with various disabilities.
• Track student progress, conduct assessments, and provide timely feedback to both students and their families.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other school staff to ensure the implementation of accommodations and modifications.
• Attend and participate in virtual IEP meetings, offering insights and recommendations for student success.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Louisiana state and federal regulations regarding special education services.
• Foster a positive, inclusive virtual classroom that supports the academic and emotional growth of students.
• Use a variety of assistive technology tools to support students’ learning needs in an online format.

Qualifications:

• Valid Louisiana Teaching Certification in Special Education (K-12).
• Experience working with students with disabilities, including the development and implementation of IEPs.
• Knowledge of special education law and best practices.
• Proficient in virtual teaching platforms and digital communication tools.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage virtual classrooms and student records effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students and maintain a positive virtual learning environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in an online or remote teaching environment.
• Familiarity with assistive technology tools and resources for special education.
• Understanding of Louisiana’s special education regulations and processes.

Compensation:
Competitive pay based on experience, ranging from $28-$32.
