Overview

VocoVision is seeking a skilled and compassionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to provide remote educational services to students in Ohio. This full-time, 1099 contract position allows you to work from the comfort of your home while supporting DHH students in their academic journey.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Deaf Education or related field
Active Ohio Deaf Education endorsement
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a DHH Teacher in a school setting
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
Experience with various communication modalities used in deaf education
Proficiency in telehealth platforms, particularly Zoom, for remote teaching
Strong understanding of deaf culture and the unique needs of DHH students
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to various student needs in a virtual environment

Responsibilities

Provide specialized instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students through online platforms
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to DHH students
Assess students' language and academic skills to determine their needs and monitor progress
Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and other educational professionals
Adapt curriculum and create appropriate learning materials for DHH students
Utilize various digital tools and teaching methods to engage students in virtual learning
Support the language and communication development of DHH students
Maintain accurate records and generate reports on student performance
Stay updated on best practices in deaf education and online instruction techniques
