Job Title: Remote K-12 School Occupational Therapist in New Mexico

Location: Fully Remote (New Mexico)

Position Type: Full-time, Contract

Duration: 2024-2025 School Year

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to provide remote services to our K-12 student population for the 2024-2025 school year. As a remote Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in promoting students' independence, participation, and success in their academic and daily living activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and functional needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school participation.
  • Develop individualized occupational therapy plans to address students' goals and objectives, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services via teletherapy platforms, including therapeutic exercises, activities, sensory integration techniques, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
  • Support the implementation of accommodations and modifications to facilitate students' access to the curriculum and engagement in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate sensory strategies and fine motor activities into classroom routines and instructional practices.
  • Monitor students' progress and adjust intervention plans as needed, while maintaining accurate documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports.
  • Participate in virtual meetings, consultations, and professional development activities to support the interdisciplinary team and enhance your clinical skills.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of New Mexico.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, educators, and other stakeholders remotely.
  • Proficiency in using teletherapy platforms and technology for virtual service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently, manage caseload efficiently, and prioritize tasks in a remote setting.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards, confidentiality, and cultural competence in service delivery.
