Virtual School Social Worker


Location: Remote (Michigan)
Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Contract Opportunities
Pay: $43/Hour

Responsibilities:

• Provide Counseling and Support: Offer individual and group counseling services to students to address emotional, social, and behavioral issues. Conduct virtual counseling sessions through video calls, phone calls, and messaging platforms.
• Develop and Implement Intervention Plans: Work with students, families, and educators to develop personalized intervention plans for students struggling with academic, social, or emotional issues.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises and emergency situations, providing immediate support and resources to students and families in need.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to identify students who may need additional support and create plans to meet their needs.
• Family Outreach and Engagement: Communicate regularly with families to provide updates on student progress and offer resources for additional support. Serve as a liaison between the school and community resources.
• Resource Coordination: Connect students and families with community resources, including mental health services, financial assistance programs, and other support services.
• Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all student interactions, interventions, and progress. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding student privacy and special education.
• Advocacy: Advocate for students’ needs within the school and community, ensuring that all students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.
• Professional Development: Stay current on best practices in school social work, mental health, and virtual education. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Must hold a valid Michigan School Social Work License (SSW) or be eligible for certification.
• Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting, preferably in a virtual or online education environment. Experience in crisis intervention, counseling, and resource coordination is highly preferred.
