Overview

VocoVision is seeking a qualified and passionate Sign Language Interpreter to provide remote interpreting services to students in Georgia. This full-time, 1099 contract position allows you to work from the comfort of your home while supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students in their educational pursuits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (minimum)
• 3.5 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score or higher
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school setting
• Proficiency in telehealth platforms, particularly Zoom, for remote interpreting
• Strong ASL skills and excellent English language proficiency
• Ability to work autonomously and adapt to various academic subjects and communication needs

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in virtual classroom environments
• Interpret across various subjects and grade levels as assigned
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers during online classes and activities
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing relevant materials and subject-specific vocabulary
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the interpreter code of professional conduct
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication
• Stay updated on ASL vocabulary, particularly in educational and technical fields
