VocoVision is seeking a skilled and passionate Sign Language Interpreter to join our dynamic network. In this role, you will play a crucial part in facilitating communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their educators, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Start: ASAP
• Hours: Full Time 37.5/weekly 
• Location: 100% Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for virtual classroom settings and one-on-one sessions.
• Translate spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa with accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with educators and students to understand their communication needs and preferences.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
• Adapt to varying communication styles and academic content.
• Assist in developing and implementing effective communication strategies for diverse learning needs.

Job Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelors Degree in ASL or Educational Interpreting.
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Preferred qualified RID or NIC Certifications.
• Proven experience in interpreting in educational settings.
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a solid understanding of Deaf culture.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with teletherapy platforms and virtual communication tools is a plus.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

VOCO Requirements

• Comfortable being an independent contractor(1099)
• Home computer with high internet speed
• Passed basic tech screening
