Remote Sign Language Interpreting Position in Charleston, SC

VocoVision is currently offering a remote sign language interpreting position for a school located in Charleston, South Carolina. This fully remote opportunity allows you to work as an independent contractor. To be considered, we require a minimum of two years of school experience.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor s Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) or Educational Interpreting
• EIPA rating of 4.00 or above required, with a written portion
• Preference given to candidates with the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) National Interpreting Certification (NIC)
• Professional liability insurance coverage

Additional Details

• Our contracts operate under an independent 1099 structure.
• Caseload covers grades 1-12 with mild to moderate symptoms
• Full-time or part-time hours available (details below)
• Hours: 15-40 total direct/indirect hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual sign language interpretation services in real-time during virtual meetings, conferences, webinars, and other online events for faculty and/or students.
• Adhere to ethical standards of confidentiality, impartiality, and accuracy for individual students and faculty members.
