Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Remote (Students based in Oregon)
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Pay: 50+/Hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct virtual assessments and evaluations to determine students’ speech and language needs. Interpret evaluation results to create individualized therapy plans.
- Therapy Services: Provide direct speech-language therapy to students through virtual platforms. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure cohesive support for students. Participate in virtual IEP meetings and provide guidance on communication strategies and accommodations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and evaluations. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology and virtual education technologies. Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
- Technical Support: Utilize and troubleshoot various virtual communication tools and platforms to facilitate effective therapy sessions. Ensure students and families are comfortable with the technology used.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Oregon.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred. Experience with virtual therapy platforms is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and teletherapy software.
- Passion for Education: Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
