Virtual School Psychologist Fully Remote, South Dakota

? Position Overview

Were seeking a licensed School Psychologist to serve remotely for a South Dakota public school district during the 202526 academic year. This position supports K12 students by conducting virtual evaluations, counseling, consulting with staff and families, and contributing to special education eligibility and complianceall while working from a remote, secure environment.

? Key Responsibilities

• Psychoeducational Evaluations: Conduct virtual initial and re?evaluation assessments for special education eligibility using research?based tele?assessment tools.

• IEP & 504 Participation: Work virtually with multidisciplinary teams during meetingsinterpreting data, contributing to eligibility and goal setting, and coordinating services.

• Counseling Services: Provide individual and small?group counseling interventions aligned with student IEP or 504 plans.

• Behavioral Support: Develop and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with school staff and parents.

• Consultation: Guide classroom teachers, MTSS teams, and parents on interventions, behavioral strategies, and academic accommodations.

• Crisis & Risk Response: Participate virtually in risk assessments and crisis protocols when necessary.

• Legal & Ethical Compliance: Ensure adherence to IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and South Dakota state regulations.

• Documentation & Reporting: Complete timely, accurate psychological reports and maintain digital records in district systems.

• Professional Collaboration: Stay connected with district psychologists, counselors, and special education personnel through virtual staff meetings and consultation.

? Required Qualifications

• Education & Licensure: Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology, and active South Dakota school psychologist licensure.

• School Setting Experience: At least 1 year of K12 experience (virtually or onsite) conducting evaluations, counseling, and IEP collaboration.

• Technical Setup: Secure home office with HIPAA?compliant video platform, high?speed internet, and access to tele?assessment systems (e.g., Pearson Q?Interactive).

• Compliance Clearances: Ability to complete South Dakota background checks/fingerprinting.

• Skills: Excellent written report writing, strong virtual communication, and cultural responsiveness to diverse student populations.

? Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with South Dakota Department of Education special education policies and funding mechanisms.

• Experience in MTSS/PBIS frameworks.

• Bilingual skills or experience with multilingual learners.

• Previous remote school-based service delivery experience.
