About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide remote interpreting services for K-12 students in Sparks, Nevada. In this role, you will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers or instructors in a virtual learning environment.

What Youll Be Doing:

• Provide real-time interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring clear communication in virtual classrooms.

• Translate lessons, discussions, and other instructional materials into American Sign Language (ASL).

• Collaborate with teachers, students, and parents to ensure effective communication and engagement for students.

• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on communication needs and accommodations for students.

• Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment by facilitating communication for students with hearing impairments.

• Maintain accurate logs of interpreting sessions and ensure compliance with Nevadas educational regulations.

What You Need:

• Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter in Nevada.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).

• Experience working with K-12 students (teletherapy experience preferred).

• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working remotely with students, parents, and school teams.

• A reliable internet connection and a professional, quiet workspace.
