VocoVision, in partnership with Sunbelt Staffing, is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support multiple Illinois school districts for the upcoming 20252026 school year. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a direct impact by providing interpretation services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across various grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ASL interpretation in educational settings for students, staff, and parents

• Facilitate clear communication between students and educators

• Support instruction and student engagement during classroom lessons, activities, and school events

• Collaborate with IEP teams, special education staff, and classroom teachers

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for educational interpreting

Requirements:

• High school diploma (Associates degree or higher preferred)

• Valid Illinois SLI certification or appropriate ISBE approval

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a K12 setting preferred

• Familiarity with virtual platforms (for remote assignments) and reliable home tech setup (for virtual roles)

Preferred Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 3.5+

• RID certification (NIC, CI/CT) a plus

• Experience in Illinois public schools highly preferred
