Remote Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Oregon
Position Overview:
We are seeking a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide remote instructional services to K12 students with hearing loss across Oregon school districts. This fully virtual role offers the opportunity to support students academic and communication development while working from home.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and consultative instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing using virtual platforms

Adapt and modify curriculum to meet students unique learning needs

Teach communication skills, including listening, spoken language, and/or sign language as appropriate

Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers to develop and implement IEP goals
-
Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
-
Participate in virtual IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

Ensure compliance with Oregon Department of Education regulations and district policies
Requirements:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field with a focus on Deaf Education

Valid Oregon teaching license with DHH endorsement or eligibility to obtain

Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
-
Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms and digital instructional tools

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to independently manage a virtual caseload
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching in a remote or virtual setting

Familiarity with Oregon special education laws and IEP compliance

Knowledge of assistive technology and communication methods such as ASL or Cued Speech
