Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Fully Remote, Texas

Position Overview:

We are seeking a certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide remote instructional services to K12 students with visual impairments across Texas school districts. This fully virtual role offers the opportunity to support students academic and functional skills while working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and consultation for students with visual impairments using virtual platforms

• Assess students functional vision and learning media needs remotely

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with appropriate goals

• Teach Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology skills as needed

• Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers

• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly

• Participate in virtual IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

• Ensure compliance with Texas Education Agency and district policies

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field with TVI certification

• Valid Texas teaching license with TVI endorsement or eligibility to obtain

• Experience working with students who are visually impaired

• Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms and digital instructional tools

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to independently manage a virtual caseload

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching in a remote or virtual environment

• Familiarity with Texas special education laws and IEP compliance

• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive learning tools
