Overview
VocoVision is recruiting an experienced Special Education Teacher to provide virtual services to students across Illinois. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with diverse learners while enjoying the benefits of a flexible work-from-home arrangement.
Position Details
- Location: Fully Remote (Illinois-based)
- Employment Type: Full-time, 1099 Contract
- Work Schedule: Flexible within school hours, including time for indirect services
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement (preferably K-12)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Special Education Teacher in educational settings
- Proficiency in delivering remote special education services and familiarity with online platforms like Zoom
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a virtual environment
- Cultural competence to serve Illinois' diverse student population
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with various disabilities
- Provide virtual specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique needs
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of student progress, interventions, and IEP goals
- Participate in virtual IEP meetings and contribute professional insights
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods for effective online delivery
- Stay informed about Illinois State Board of Education requirements and advancements in special education
- Provide culturally responsive services to Illinois' diverse student population
- Adhere to all ISBE guidelines and regulations for special education services
- Contribute to the implementation of Illinois' Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain PEL and stay current with best practices
