Special Education Teacher - Oregon (Remote)

Overview

VocoVision is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide virtual services to students throughout Oregon. This remote position offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on students' lives while enjoying a flexible work environment.

Position Details

  • Location: Fully Remote (Oregon-based)
  • Contract Type: Full-time, 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Schedule: Flexible within school hours, including time for indirect services

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
  • Active Oregon Teaching License with Special Education endorsement (preferably K-12)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
  • Proficiency in delivering virtual special education services and familiarity with online platforms (e.g., Zoom)
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
  • Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively in a virtual team environment
  • Cultural competence to serve Oregon's diverse student population

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
  • Provide virtual specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique requirements
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, interventions, and IEP goals
  • Actively participate in virtual IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
  • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to optimize effectiveness in an online environment
  • Stay informed about Oregon Department of Education requirements and advancements in special education
  • Provide culturally responsive services to Oregon's diverse student population
  • Adhere to all Oregon DOE guidelines and regulations for special education services
  • Contribute to the implementation of Oregon's Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework
  • Participate in professional development activities to maintain licensure and stay current with best practices
