Overview
VocoVision is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to provide virtual services to students throughout South Carolina. This remote position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on students with diverse learning needs while enjoying a flexible work environment.
Position Details
- Location: Fully Remote (South Carolina-based)
- Contract Type: Full-time, 1099 Independent Contractor
- Schedule: Flexible within school hours, including time for indirect services
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- Active South Carolina Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement (preferably K-12)
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
- Proficiency in delivering virtual special education services and familiarity with online platforms (e.g., Zoom)
- Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively in a virtual team environment
- Cultural competence to serve South Carolina's diverse student population
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
- Provide virtual specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique requirements
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, interventions, and IEP goals
- Actively participate in virtual IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
- Adapt teaching strategies and materials to optimize effectiveness in an online environment
- Stay informed about South Carolina Department of Education requirements and advancements in special education
- Provide culturally responsive services to South Carolina's diverse student population
- Adhere to all SC DOE guidelines and regulations for special education services
- Contribute to the implementation of South Carolina's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
- Participate in professional development activities to maintain certification and stay current with best practices
