Special Education Teacher - South Carolina (Remote)

Overview

VocoVision is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to provide virtual services to students throughout South Carolina. This remote position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on students with diverse learning needs while enjoying a flexible work environment.

Position Details

Location: Fully Remote (South Carolina-based)
Contract Type: Full-time, 1099 Independent Contractor
Schedule: Flexible within school hours, including time for indirect services

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education from an accredited program
Active South Carolina Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement (preferably K-12)
Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
Proficiency in delivering virtual special education services and familiarity with online platforms (e.g., Zoom)
Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills
Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal
Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively in a virtual team environment
Cultural competence to serve South Carolina's diverse student population

Responsibilities

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
Provide virtual specialized instruction tailored to each student's unique requirements
Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, interventions, and IEP goals
Actively participate in virtual IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
Adapt teaching strategies and materials to optimize effectiveness in an online environment
Stay informed about South Carolina Department of Education requirements and advancements in special education
Provide culturally responsive services to South Carolina's diverse student population
Adhere to all SC DOE guidelines and regulations for special education services
Contribute to the implementation of South Carolina's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
Participate in professional development activities to maintain certification and stay current with best practices
