Are you a passionate educator looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of visually impaired students in the vibrant state of New York ? We have an exciting opening for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our online community of tele professionals

 As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in New York, you will play a pivotal role in providing specialized education and support to students with visual impairments. Collaborating closely with students, families, and fellow educators, you'll design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that empower each student to achieve their full potential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop tailored IEPs for visually impaired students.
  • Provide instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility skills, and assistive technology.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists to create inclusive learning environments.
  • Advocate for students' educational needs and rights.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.

Needed Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Certification in Visual Impairment Education (TVI certification).
  • Proficiency in Braille and familiarity with assistive technologies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills.
  • Compassion, patience, and dedication to supporting visually impaired students.
