We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our dynamic team at VocoVision. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized education and support to visually impaired students in a virtual learning environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in specialized areas such as braille literacy, adaptive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Utilize virtual platforms and technology to deliver engaging and accessible lessons.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Visual Impairments Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid state certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
  • Proficiency in braille and knowledge of adaptive technology tools (e.g., screen readers, braille displays).
  • Experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in a virtual setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
