Tele-health Sign Language Interpreter, Schools

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to support students in our online school across Virginia. The ideal candidate will facilitate effective communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students by interpreting spoken language into sign language and vice versa in a virtual learning environment.

Qualifications

• Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working as an interpreter in educational settings is preferred.
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication needs.
• Proficiency with virtual communication tools and platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals.

VocoVision Requirements

• Candidates should be comfortable working as Independent Contractors.
• A technical assessment will be required to ensure adequate internet speed, Wi-Fi reliability, and Zoom functionality for virtual sessions.
• Proof of professional liability insurance must be provided before starting the role.
