Temporary Remote Speech Pathologist Position
Role: Speech Pathologist (Virtual)
Location: Remote (Serving a Washington State School District)
Contract Duration: December 2, 2024 – February 14, 2025 (Leave Replacement)
Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Caseload: Manage 35 students; provide direct services to 60 students
Primary Site(s): One elementary school, with potential for additional locations
Important Note: Applicants are not required to reside in Washington State, but they must be licensed in both their home state and the state of employment.
Position Overview:
VocoVision is seeking a passionate and skilled Virtual Speech Pathologist to fill a temporary assignment for a Washington state school district. This remote position is a short-term role, running from December 2, 2024, to February 14, 2025, to cover for an employee on leave. The responsibilities include managing a caseload of around 35 students, while providing direct therapy services to approximately 60 elementary students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Caseload Management: Oversee and manage a caseload of 35 students, ensuring accurate documentation, progress reports, and timely communication with parents and school staff.
- Therapy Services: Deliver direct speech therapy to approximately 60 elementary-aged students through virtual sessions.
- IEP Collaboration: Work with educators and support staff to create, monitor, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Assessments and Evaluations: Conduct virtual assessments and evaluations as needed to track student progress and adjust therapy approaches.
- Ongoing Support: Maintain consistent communication with students, their families, and school personnel to ensure a positive therapeutic experience and address any concerns.
Required Qualifications:
- ESA Certification: Must hold a valid Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification in Speech Pathology from Washington State.
- Professional Experience: Strong references that demonstrate relevant experience and competence in the field of speech pathology.
- Independent Work: Ability to work autonomously in a remote setting, managing responsibilities efficiently while staying connected with the school community.
- Experience with Elementary Students: Previous experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred but not required.
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: $53 to $55 per hour, covering both direct and indirect services. This is equivalent to an estimated annual salary of $92,000 to $95,000 based on a 10-month work period.
