Are you a dedicated and passionate educator ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of visually impaired students? We're seeking a dynamic individual to join our online community as a full-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired in beautiful Utah!

Job Description: As a full-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will have the opportunity to empower and educate students with visual impairments. In this role, you will collaborate with students, parents, and educational professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs), implement innovative teaching strategies, and provide support in essential skills like Braille, orientation and mobility, and the use of assistive technology.

Responsibilities:

Assessing the specific educational needs of visually impaired students and developing individualized education plans (IEPs).
Creating and implementing engaging and effective learning materials and teaching strategies.
Teaching Braille and providing instruction in orientation and mobility skills.
Collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure inclusive educational practices.
Conducting regular assessments and progress evaluations to monitor and support student growth.
Advocating for students' educational rights and raising awareness about visual impairment challenges.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Certification in Visual Impairment Education (TVI certification).
Proficiency in Braille and familiarity with assistive technologies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to supporting students with visual impairments.
Experience in developing IEPs and individualized teaching plans is preferred but not required.
