Type: Full-Time, Temporary/Contract (Spring Semester)

Our mission is to empower students with special needs by providing individualized, compassionate support in a remote learning environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated Remote Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming Spring Semester.
Role Overview:
As a Remote Special Education Teacher, you will work closely with students, families, and the school team to create and implement customized educational experiences. You’ll be responsible for delivering virtual instruction, tracking student progress, and adapting lessons to meet the unique needs of each student. This role is crucial in ensuring that students with disabilities have the tools and support they need to succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students in alignment with state and federal guidelines.
  • Provide high-quality virtual instruction tailored to students’ specific needs, including accommodations and modifications as outlined in IEPs.
  • Assess and monitor student performance, adjusting instruction based on ongoing progress and challenges.
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with students, families, and school staff to support student growth.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, offering insights and recommendations for continued student development.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging virtual learning environment that encourages student participation and progress.
  • Ensure full compliance with Virginia’s special education laws, regulations, and district policies.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Current Virginia Special Education Teaching Certification.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities, either in a classroom or virtual setting.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, special education laws, and best practices for working with diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using virtual teaching tools and digital platforms.
  • Empathy, patience, and dedication to fostering student success and independence.
