We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Virtual K-12 Special Education Teacher to join our team and help students across Kansas achieve their academic goals from the comfort of their homes.
Job Description:
As a Virtual K-12 Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering individualized instruction and support to students with special needs in a virtual learning environment. Your role will involve designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, and working closely with students, parents, and other educators to ensure each student’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide engaging and effective instruction in a virtual classroom setting.
- Modify teaching methods and materials to accommodate various learning styles and needs.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and educational specialists to support student progress and address any concerns.
- Track and assess student performance, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with stakeholders.
- Participate in virtual team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Kansas teaching certification in Special Education (K-12).
- Proven experience in teaching students with special needs, preferably in a virtual setting.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms and educational technologies.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
