Ready to take your sign language interpreting skills to the virtual classroom? VocoVision is seeking a dedicated Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to help empower deaf and hard-of-hearing students in Oklahoma middle schools. Your work can change lives!

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation virtually during classes in a middle school setting.

• Collaborate with educators to understand lesson materials and context for accurate interpretation.

• Assist student in comprehending the curriculum by interpreting spoken language and classroom discussions.

• Adapt interpretation style and technique to meet diverse student needs and language proficiency levels. 

• Stay current with best practices in sign language interpretation and educational strategies through ongoing professional development.

• Utilize technology effectively to ensure a smooth virtual interpretation experience.

Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or above, OR QAST Level 3 required.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL). 

• 2 years of experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting (virtual experience is a plus!).

• Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual environment.
