Virtual School Nurse for one California School District (Remote Position)

Hours based on 1099 Contract

In response to the evolving landscape of education, we are seeking a dedicated Virtual School Nurse to join in helping a school district in need for the remainder of the school year and play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students.

Position Overview:

As a Virtual School Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive and remote health services to students. In this dynamic role, you will leverage technology to assess, support, and promote the health of our student population while collaborating with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Telehealth Services: Provide virtual health consultations to students, including assessments, advice, and guidance on various health-related issues.

2. Health Education: Develop and implement virtual health education programs for students, addressing topics such as nutrition, mental health, and overall well-being.

3. Health Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records for students, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.

4. Collaboration: Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and parents to address health-related concerns and promote a healthy school environment.

5. Emergency Response: Provide virtual guidance during health emergencies, including first aid instructions, until in-person assistance is available.

6. Preventive Care: Implement and promote preventive health measures within the school community, including vaccination programs and health screenings.

Qualifications:

1. Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing is a plus.
4. Proficient in using telehealth platforms and electronic health records systems.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
