Virtual School Psychologist


Location: Alaska (Remote)
Job Type: Fulltime, Virtual Contract
Pay: $48/Hour


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct virtual assessments and evaluations to determine students' cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address students' academic and socio-emotional needs.
  • Provide virtual counseling and therapy services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to develop strategies for supporting students' academic and emotional success in the virtual learning environment.
  • Participate in virtual IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings to contribute to the development of appropriate educational plans for students with special needs.
  • Provide virtual consultation and support to teachers and school staff regarding students' behavioral management strategies, social skills development, and crisis intervention.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and consultations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and trends in school psychology and virtual education to inform practice and improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other school psychologists and mental health professionals within the district to share resources and expertise.


Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Current certification or licensure as a School Psychologist in Alaska (or ability to obtain licensure upon hire).
  • Experience providing school psychological services in a virtual or remote setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, learning theory, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using virtual platforms and technology for conducting assessments, delivering interventions, and communicating with students and families.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a virtual work environment.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
