We are seeking a Virtual School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services to students enrolled in our virtual school programs across Arizona. As a Virtual School Psychologist, you will collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Arizona.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' academic abilities, cognitive functioning, social-emotional development, and behavioral concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to support students' unique needs.
- Provide virtual counseling and crisis intervention services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to develop strategies for improving students' academic performance and social interactions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss students' progress, interventions, and support services.
- Offer virtual consultation and training to teachers and staff on topics related to student behavior management, mental health, and learning disabilities.
- Stay current on best practices, research findings, and legal regulations related to school psychology and special education.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and consultations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students with disabilities, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and support services.
Qualifications:
- Master's or doctoral degree in school psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid license or certification as a school psychologist in Arizona.
- Prior experience working as a school psychologist in a K-12 educational setting, preferably in a virtual or remote environment.
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools, techniques, and practices for evaluating students' cognitive, academic, and socio-emotional functioning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using virtual communication and assessment platforms, such as Zoom, Google Meet, and assessment software.
- Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and mental health services.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Understanding of federal and state laws and regulations governing special education, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
