Are you passionate about supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students? We are seeking a skilled Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to assist in Alaskan schools. This independent contractor role offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on students’ educational experiences.
What You’ll Do:
- Real-Time Interpretation: Provide accurate ASL interpretation for virtual classrooms, ensuring students can fully engage in lessons and discussions.
- Collaboration: Partner with teachers and staff to facilitate clear communication and understanding among students and peers.
- Adaptability: Adjust interpretation techniques based on subject matter and individual student needs.
- Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in ASL interpreting (RID, NAD, or equivalent).
- Experience in educational settings is a plus.
- Strong understanding of educational terminology and dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse learning environments.
- Proficient with video conferencing tools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate ranging from $35 to $45, based on experience.
