We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Sign Language Interpreter to support students in our online educational program across Virginia. The ideal candidate will facilitate clear communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students by interpreting spoken language into sign language and vice versa in a virtual classroom setting.

Requirements:

• Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation or a comparable qualification.
• Previous experience as an interpreter in educational contexts is strongly preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of deaf culture and students' communication needs.
• Proficient in using online communication tools and platforms.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and other professionals.

• Candidates should be prepared to work as Independent Contractors.
• A technical assessment will be required to ensure sufficient internet speed, Wi-Fi stability, and Zoom functionality for online sessions.
• Proof of professional liability insurance must be provided prior to starting the position.
