We are in search of a skilled and reliable Remote Sign Language Interpreter to assist students in our virtual school throughout Virginia. The ideal candidate will help ensure effective communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students by translating spoken words into sign language and vice versa in an online learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation or an equivalent credential.
• Experience in educational settings as an interpreter is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of deaf culture and the unique communication needs of students.
• Competence in using digital communication tools and platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

VocoVision Requirements:

• Candidates must be comfortable working as Independent Contractors.
• A technical evaluation will be necessary to confirm adequate internet speed, Wi-Fi reliability, and Zoom performance for virtual classes.
• Evidence of professional liability insurance must be submitted before beginning the role.
