Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Remote Sign Language Interpreter to join our team. In this role, you will provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services to students in schools through our secure teletherapy platform. As a remote sign language interpreter with VocoVision, you will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and accurate ASL interpretation during virtual classroom sessions, meetings, and other school activities.
  • Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure effective communication and understanding.
  • Follow ethical standards and guidelines for professional interpreting practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Adapt to various communication styles and preferences of individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (CI, CT, CSC, NIC, or equivalent) required.
  • 4.0+ EIPA and Written Asseesment preferred
  • Experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings preferred.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and understanding of deaf culture.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using teletherapy platforms and technology for virtual service delivery.
