The VocoVision team is dedicated to providing inclusive and quality education to all students. We are seeking a talented and experienced Virtual Sign Language Interpreter to join our team and support our students with hearing impairments in their educational journey in the state of Utah.

SLI Responsibilities:

Facilitating communication between students who use American Sign Language (ASL) and their peers, teachers, and other school staff during virtual sessions.
Providing interpretation for classroom lessons, discussions, and school activities to ensure effective communication for students with hearing impairments.
Collaborating with teachers and support staff to ensure an inclusive and accessible learning environment for students with hearing impairments.
Assisting in translating written materials and resources into ASL when necessary.
Maintaining accurate and confidential records of interpreted sessions.

SLI Requirements:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other communication modalities used by students with hearing impairments.
Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) in a school-based setting or providing virtual interpreting services is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students and staff.
Tech-savvy and comfortable with virtual platforms for seamless interpreting sessions.
Reliable internet connection and audio/video equipment for remote work.
