Virtual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Remote (Serving Students in Mississippi)
Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments virtually to identify student needs and determine eligibility for speech services.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement individualized therapy plans as part of students’ IEPs, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Therapy Sessions: Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students using online platforms, ensuring engagement and progress.
- Consultation: Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the general education curriculum and to support student success in the virtual classroom.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document student progress regularly, adjusting therapy plans as needed, and providing timely reports and updates to stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure all services provided are compliant with state and federal regulations, including IDEA and other relevant special education laws.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology, especially as it relates to telepractice, and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certification: ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) required. Mississippi state licensure for speech-language pathology.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an SLP, preferably with experience in teletherapy or virtual settings.
- Technology: Proficient in using online therapy platforms and comfortable with technology in a virtual learning environment.
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to build rapport with students and staff in a virtual setting.
- Other: Knowledge of Mississippi state regulations and guidelines for special education.
