Virtual Speech Language Pathologist - Washington
Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Remote (Students Based in Washington)
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
*MUST be Bilingual*
Pay: $55/Hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments using virtual tools to identify students' communication strengths and challenges.
- IEP Development: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Therapeutic Intervention: Provide individual and group speech-language therapy sessions through a virtual platform, focusing on improving students' communication, language, and social skills.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and document student progress regularly, adjusting therapy approaches as needed to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including teachers, special education staff, and administrators, to support students' academic and social success.
- Parent and Teacher Consultation: Provide guidance and support to parents and teachers on strategies to reinforce communication skills at home and in the classroom.
- Compliance: Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Washington state laws.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and virtual therapy delivery through ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Current Washington state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility for licensure).
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred. Experience with teletherapy or virtual service delivery is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using virtual platforms for therapy delivery, including secure video conferencing tools, assessment software, and electronic documentation systems.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff in a remote environment.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage a caseload, meet deadlines, and maintain detailed and accurate records.
