Instructional Aide - Portland, OR

A rewarding opportunity is available for a paraprofessional specializing in supporting high-needs students at the post-secondary transition level in an educational setting located in Portland, OR. This contract position involves providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to a student requiring focused support to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to a high-needs student during the school day from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
• Accompany the student on the bus ride to and from school, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Collaborate closely with a team consisting of one paraeducator and one special education teacher within the classroom environment.
• Assist with academic tasks, behavior management, and daily living skills as appropriate for the students needs.
• Support the students transition goals and promote independence in line with individualized education program (IEP) objectives.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional, ideally supporting students with significant needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with educators and support staff.
