Virtual School Audiologist | Colorado

A contract opportunity is available for a licensed Audiologist to support a charter school in Colorado Springs or provide virtual services. This role focuses on assisting a kindergarten student recently diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss, who has been fitted with hearing aids. The position requires expertise in audiology and telehealth to participate in key meetings and provide consultation services vital to the students educational accommodations.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending an upcoming 504 meeting as the designated audiology expert to discuss accommodations and support for the students hearing needs
• Reviewing relevant documentation such as audiograms, medical records, and outside audiologist recommendations to inform accommodations
• Advising on necessary assistive listening devices, including FM systems, and documenting accommodation plans
• Potentially contributing to a special education evaluation in collaboration with the schools speech-language pathologist, if initiated, over the next several months
• Providing follow-up consultation for a subsequent 504 meeting the following academic year, as the student will continue in the two-year kindergarten program

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Valid audiology license and experience in school-based hearing services
• Knowledge of hearing loss accommodations and assistive technology in educational settings
• Familiarity with 504 and special education processes
• Ability to work effectively via telehealth platforms and in-person as needed
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
