Virtual School Counselor | Iowa

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled professional to provide telehealth counseling services within a school setting located in Des Moines, IA. This role involves delivering mental health support and guidance to students through virtual platforms, ensuring accessibility and responsiveness to their emotional and psychological needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions remotely, addressing a variety of student concerns such as stress, anxiety, behavioral issues, and academic challenges.
• Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement individualized support plans that promote student well-being.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of counseling sessions and outcomes in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Provide crisis intervention and referral services as necessary.
• Participate in school-wide mental health initiatives and contribute to creating a positive, supportive environment for students.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid licensure or certification as a school counselor or mental health professional.
• Demonstrated experience providing telehealth counseling services, preferably within educational settings.
