Remote Occupational Therapist in MA
A therapeutic public day special education program serving students in grades 812 seeks a Virtual Occupational Therapist to provide approximately 3 hours of intervention weekly. This program supports roughly 20 students with a capacity for 30, placed out-of-district by sending local education agencies across western Massachusetts. Translating broadly written IEP goals into engaging, relevant activities for teensincluding those resistant to adult suggestionsis essential. The role also involves progress monitoring, documentation, and participation in team meetings, with coordination alongside speech services provided to one student.
Qualifications and experience sought include:
- Valid Massachusetts OT license or license eligibility
- NBCOT certification
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy, preferably with high school students
- Skilled in delivering OT services effectively via telehealth, including camera positioning, directing fine motor tasks at a distance, and engaging adolescents virtually
- Experience working with students who have emotional and behavioral challenges
