Remote Special Education Reading Specialist | New Hampshire
A contract opportunity is open for a professional skilled in reading or special education to provide targeted 1:1 literacy and math instruction to a 4th-grade student performing at approximately a 1st-grade level. This role supports an out-of-district placed student and is based in the Derry, NH area, with services primarily delivered through telehealth, though in-person instruction is preferred if feasible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized 1:1 literacy instruction 4 to 5 times per week, approximately 30 minutes per session, focusing on reading development.
- Provide 1:1 math instruction 4 times per week for 30-minute sessions, tailored to the student's academic needs.
- Utilize specialized strategies to support a student performing below grade level, adapting instruction to drive measurable progress.
- Conduct sessions via telehealth with flexibility towards in-person sessions as circumstances allow.
- Collaborate with relevant educational professionals to track progress and adjust teaching approaches accordingly.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience as a Reading Specialist or Special Educator with a strong background in literacy and math instruction.
- Proven ability to support students with individualized academic needs in a 1:1 instructional setting.
