Remote School Psychologist | South Carolina
An opportunity is available for a licensed School Psychologist providing telehealth services for a full school year contract in Orangeburg, SC. This role supports a diverse student population from Kindergarten through 8th grade, managing a full caseload of approximately 670 students.
Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and social development. Providing individual and group counseling services to address mental health challenges is essential. Collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents plays a key role in addressing students behavioral and academic needs. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing targeted interventions for emotional and behavioral concerns, participating in IEP meetings, and contributing to goal setting. Crisis intervention and support for students experiencing acute emotional distress are critical parts of this position. Educating staff and families about mental health issues and available resources helps foster a supportive environment. Maintaining accurate, confidential records of all assessments and interventions is required, along with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications sought for this position include a Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology and South Carolina School Psychologist certification. Candidates should have experience delivering counseling and conducting psychological assessments within a school setting. Knowledge of mental health challenges affecting children and adolescents is necessary. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are important to effectively collaborate with students, families, and school personnel. Prior experience working with K-8 students is highly advantageous.
This full-time position requires availability five days a week with a 40-hour workweek. Services will be delivered primarily through telehealth platforms, providing flexibility while maintaining direct support to the student population.
