Educational Interpreter - Gaffney, South Carolina

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support a high school student with cognitive behavioral challenges and vision impairment. This position is located in Gaffney, SC, and requires availability from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM. The role is on a contract basis, starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 28th.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and clear sign language interpretation to facilitate effective communication for the student
• Support the student throughout the school day, addressing both academic and behavioral communication needs
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion during classroom activities
• Adapt interpretation techniques to accommodate the students vision impairment and cognitive behavioral requirements
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards in all interactions

Desired Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings
• Familiarity with interpreting for individuals with cognitive behavioral challenges and vision impairment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support student engagement
• Ability to work full-time hours aligned with the school day schedule
