Sign Language Interpreter in Rock Hill, SC

An assignment is available for a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school student with cognitive behavioral needs and visual impairment. This role requires working within a school setting in Rock Hill, SC, on a contract basis from ASAP through May 28th.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and effective sign language interpretation for a high school student.
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers to ensure meaningful engagement.
• Adapt interpreting strategies to address the students cognitive behavioral and vision impairments.
• Collaborate with educational staff to support the students learning goals and behavior management.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications and interactions.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with experience interpreting in educational settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students who have multiple disabilities, including cognitive and vision impairments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability and flexibility to maintain consistent full-time hours, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, during the contract term.

Location: Rock Hill, SC work onsite within the high school environment.
