About VocoVision:
VocoVision is looking for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide remote interpreting services to K-12 students in Southfield, Michigan. In this role, you will facilitate communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers or instructors in a virtual learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time interpretation for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring clear communication in virtual classrooms.
Translate classroom discussions, lectures, and other instructional materials into American Sign Language (ASL).
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' educational needs.
Assist in creating an inclusive classroom environment by facilitating communication for students with hearing impairments.
Participate in IEP meetings to provide insights and recommendations related to communication needs and services.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Michigans special education regulations.

Qualifications:

Valid Michigan licensure or certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
Experience working with K-12 students (teletherapy experience preferred).
Strong communication and collaboration skills for remote work.
A reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace.
