Online Sign Language Interpreter - AZ

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services to support a middle school setting. This contract position involves working directly with one student, providing clear and effective communication assistance to ensure accessibility and engagement within the educational environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering sign language interpretation services tailored to the needs of a middle school student
• Facilitating communication between the student, educators, and support staff during telehealth and in-person sessions
• Collaborating with educational professionals to enhance learning experiences through accurate and culturally appropriate interpretation
• Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Adapting interpretation methods to accommodate evolving student needs and educational settings

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Experience working with middle school-age students in educational or telehealth environments
• Strong understanding of educational terminology and protocols related to middle school curricula
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on a contract basis
• Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity
