Video Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter (Remote, West Virginia)
Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter to provide virtual interpreting services for elementary and middle school students in West Virginia. In this fully remote role, you will support students access to classroom instruction, peer interaction, and school activities through a secure teletherapy platform.
Responsibilities:

Provide real-time interpreting services for students in elementary and middle school settings.

Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff.

Accurately interpret spoken English into sign language and vice versa.

Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to support student learning.

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to educational standards.

Participate in virtual IEP meetings and team discussions when needed.
Requirements:

Certification through RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or equivalent (preferred).

Compliance with West Virginia licensing/certification requirements for educational interpreters.

Previous experience working with school-aged students, ideally in elementary or middle school.

Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.

Ability to manage virtual interpreting sessions effectively.
