A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with experience in telehealth, supporting educational environments. This contract position focuses on facilitating clear and effective communication for students requiring American Sign Language services within a school setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing accurate, real-time interpretation of classroom instruction and telehealth sessions between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators or healthcare professionals.
- Adhering to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements while interpreting in both in-person and virtual environments.
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and telehealth providers to ensure accessible communication tailored to individual student needs.
- Preparing for scheduled sessions by reviewing relevant materials and understanding the context of lessons or health consultations.
- Reporting any communication challenges and suggesting solutions to enhance accessibility.
Qualifications and experience sought:
