Responsibilities include:

• Providing accurate, real-time interpretation of classroom instruction and telehealth sessions between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and educators or healthcare professionals.
• Adhering to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements while interpreting in both in-person and virtual environments.
• Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and telehealth providers to ensure accessible communication tailored to individual student needs.
• Preparing for scheduled sessions by reviewing relevant materials and understanding the context of lessons or health consultations.
• Reporting any communication challenges and suggesting solutions to enhance accessibility.

Qualifications and experience sought:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language with certification in interpreting (e.g., RID, NIC) preferred.
