Remote Educational Sign Language Interpreter | Kansas
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter providing telehealth services in an educational setting. This remote position offers consistent part-time hours throughout the school year.
Location: Remote (serving a school in Paola, KS) Duration: ASAP through the end of the school year Schedule: Approximately 12.92 hours per week, with specific daily times as follows:
- 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM (Monday through Friday)
- 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
- 10:25 AM to 11:10 AM (Monday through Friday)
- 12:25 PM to 1:10 PM (Monday through Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation via telehealth to support students communication needs
- Adhere to confidentiality and educational regulations during all interactions
- Collaborate with educational staff virtually to enhance learning experiences for deaf or hard-of-hearing students
- Maintain accurate records of sessions and communicate relevant information as required
Qualifications:
- Earned EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Must be registered or in the process of registering with the Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH)
- Successful completion of the required technology proficiency screening
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting student success in a remote environment
